WEEKLY SCHEDULE:

Donation Yoga at Sunset Cliffs – San Diego:

Breathe in the ocean air and flow with us at San Diego’s most iconic yoga spot. 🌊 These scenic, peaceful, community-focused yoga classes overlook the Pacific Ocean and are suitable for all levels—from first-timers to experienced yogis.

We have a rotating schedule of teachers who are part of the team at Mind Body Badass! You can find the instructor schedule under each class’ Eventbrite listing. These meetups were started by MBB creator Amy Baack (who still teaches regularly) in Spring 2021 and has expanded to become a must-do yoga experience in the San Diego community. Catch OG instructor Amy at least once a month, and join us weekly to experience some of the best yoga teachers in SD along with the ocean breeze, pelicans flying overhead, and a badass community!

Bring a yoga mat, a towel for underneath your mat (optional, the cliffs can get dusty), sun protection, water, and all your friends & fam.

📍 All our MBB Sunset Cliffs Yoga classes are held at the intersection of Sunset Cliffs Blvd & Adair St.

🎟️ Donations are welcome but never required (Venmo or cash accepted). Sign ups are required to honor park regulations! We are limited to 49 attendees.

Have questions about our public yoga classes? Contact Amy, founder and leader of Mind Body Badass.

We can’t wait to flow with you!

“Mind Body Badass is the best in SoCal for outdoor yoga. They are well organized and always on time. I’ve taken classes led by six of their instructors (Amy, Danielle, Laura, Amanda, Madi, Daisee) and they are all phenomenal at what they do. Highly recommend them for private sound baths as well.” – Liz G.

OUR MISSION:

At Mind Body Badass, we believe yoga should be accessible, empowering, and rooted in community—not limited to studio walls or high price tags. That’s why we’ve made it our mission to offer free, donation-optional yoga classes in some of the most beautiful outdoor spaces in San Diego since 2021. Whether you’re brand new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, our public classes invite you to move, breathe, and connect in ways that nourish your body and soul. No judgement, just joy.

This mission isn’t just a tagline—it’s something we’ve fought for. In 2024, our founder Amy Baack filed a First Amendment lawsuit against the City of San Diego after being threatened by city park rangers for teaching outdoor donation-based yoga at Sunset Cliffs. In June 2025, she won the case in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, affirming the right for community-based, free-expression gatherings like yoga classes to exist in public parks. This victory helped pave the way for more wellness access for all, and cemented the future of yoga in San Diego.

When you join us on the mat, you’re not just doing yoga—you’re part of a real badass movement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, registration is required for all our classes! It helps us manage class size and keeps things running smoothly. Just sign up on Eventbrite before you come — it only takes a sec.

No, our donation-based yoga classes are free to join! No payment is required to attend, and we’ll never pressure you to give anything. If you feel moved to support the class, donations are always appreciated but not expected. We suggest a $10–$20 if you’d like to contribute, via Venmo or cash to your instructor. Gifts, social media tags, and hugs are also welcomed!

Bring a yoga mat (we also have some to borrow for free, email us in advance), a towel for under your mat, water, and dress in layers in case it’s breezy. Sunscreen and sunglasses are also a good idea for our outdoor classes.

All levels are welcome, especially beginners! If it’s your first time on the mat, you’ll be supported every step of the way. We offer options throughout class so you can move in a way that feels good for you, with clear instructions and visual demos. Everyone belongs in our community.

All our public yoga class sign ups are through Eventbrite. Our events tend to sell out, so please cancel your spot if you can no longer attend to free up space for someone on the waitlist!
