Where To Find Outdoor Yoga in San Diego in 2022

In Southern California, we’re lucky to have warm, sunny days nearly year-round—the perfect setting to find Outdoor Yoga in San Diego!
San Diego is known for being a super active, outdoorsy city, with tons of beautiful parks, beaches, and other natural settings. And now that Covid is also a high concern, outdoor yoga in San Diego is becoming more popular than ever. There are tons of options throughout the city, and with nearly 365 days of perfect weather it’s almost always a good day to take your practice outside!
I know this firsthand, because I actually teach a popular public Outdoor Yoga class in San Diego myself, at Sunset Cliffs (see details below to join!). We’re so blessed here to have that option, even in winter months. Doing Yoga also outside takes the practice to a whole other level—you’ll find it’s even easier to feel more grounded and centered while being out in nature. The health benefits of being outside along with doing yoga easily makes this a must-do activity, whether you live in San Diego or are visiting!
To have the best experience possible, don’t forget to bring these important items with you to your Outdoor Yoga Class:
- Yoga mat
- Towel to put underneath your mat (esp. for sandy/dusty situations)
- Sunscreen
- Hat or a visor
- A jacket (in case it turns chilly—you’ll want to stay warm during Savasana!)
- Water
- Towel for sweat
And here’s how to clean your mat when you’re done!
Now that you’re prepped and ready to go, let’s get to the list of class options…
Where to find Outdoor Yoga in San Diego in 2022:
I’ve searched all over and reached out to my network of yogis here in San Diego to come up with the most comprehensive list of all the Yoga Teachers and Studios who are currently offering Outdoor Yoga in San Diego in 2022.
As a yoga teacher myself, you might think it’s weird that I’m promoting other options besides my own. But I believe in collaboration over competition—the more access to yoga the better, right? When one succeeds, we all do. If you want to practice with me, you can join me at Sunset Cliffs (listed below), or click here to work with me online or for a private session.
I divided the options into two categories: Donation classes offered by independent teachers, and Studios that have outdoor studio spaces. I’ll continue to update this list as I learn of more options. Be sure to let me know anything I missed in the Comments section at the end of this post!
Donation Outdoor Yoga in San Diego
On a budget? San Diego’s got your back with plenty of Donation classes that are open to the public. It’s okay if you can’t pay—you’re always welcome at these classes (just bring good vibes and help support the teacher by telling others about the class). Most teachers have a suggested donation, so be sure to ask if you’re unsure, and bring cash. Every donation is welcome and helps support the teacher to keep the class going!

Don’t mind me while I do a little shameless self-promoting. 🙂 I honestly list this first because I know this is an awesome experience! Sunset Cliffs Natural Park in Ocean Beach, San Diego is one of the most magical spots in SoCal. Picture yourself doing yoga on a cliff overlooking the ocean, listening to the sounds of the crashing waves below. You may even spot a whale or dolphin while you’re doing Tree Pose. (We’ve seen both!)
Come enjoy my Donation All-Levels yoga flow at Sunset Cliffs every Saturday morning 9-10 am! This is an accessible Hatha yoga class, and everyone is welcome, including beginners. It’s the perfect balance of feel-good stretching and strengthening. Class is limited to 50 attendees, so be sure to sign up beforehand!
